About You

I am a stay at home mom to a 6 yr old son that I homeschool. I love to create delicious recipes with products and post them onto my page.

Ingredients List

Filling:

  • 4oz goat cheese
  • Crumbled feta
  • 2 tbsp chopped La Costena chipotles in adobo
  • 2 tbsp minced La Costena canned jalapeños
  • 1/3 cup blended roasted pepitas (until powdery)
  • A pinch of smoked paprika + cumin (adjust to your liking)

Phyllo Shells:

  • Use 1 pack thawed phyllo shells
  • Spicy cheese mix (above)

Hot Honey Glaze:

  • Warm honey
  • Add La Costena chipotle adobo sauce
  • A splash of La Costena jalapeño brine
  • A splash of apple cider vinegar

Preparation Steps

  1. Mix all of the ingredients to make the cheese filling in a bowl until creamy and everything is combined.
  2. Place some parchment paper onto a baking sheet, then add the thawed phyllo shells. Spoon in the cheese filling and then bake at 350°F for about 5–8 minutes until golden.
  3. While the phyllo shells are baking, mix together the hot honey glaze ingredients in a saucepan, then bring to a simmer on the stove until flavors combine. This should take about 2-3 minutes.
  4. Once the cheese filled phyllo shells are done baking, drizzle the hot honey glaze over them (while hot). You can let it soak in for about 10 minutes or eat it right away!

Fun Fact or Story Behind Recipe

I am part greek, so I wanted to come up with a savory version of the baklava dessert and this is what I came up with!
