Mix dry ingredients together.
Gradually add buttermilk to form a soft dough.
Knead into a large rounded shape and let rise for 15 minutes.
Pinch off fist-sized pieces, flatten, and fry until golden brown.

1 ½ cups buttermilk

1 tablespoon sugar

1 cup frying oil
