About You
Hi! My name is Monica and I live in a suburb near Phoenix, Arizona. I am American-Mexican and married to a Mexican-American. Spoiler alert-we eat a lot of Mexican food and add Mexican flavors to most of our meals.
La Costeña products make it easy and convenient to get the tastes when you want authentic Mexican flavors.
My Instagram is usually about my garden and more personal unless I am posting for a contest.
My YouTube is where I usually post about Arizona and Mexico. https://www.youtube.com/@SparklesOfArizona
INGREDIENTS LIST
- Table-size Flour Tortillas (Wraps)
- Cream Cheese (Whipped is easier to spread)
- La Costeña Jalapeños (Whole peppers minus stems, sliced, or diced)
OPTIONAL:
- Lunchmeat (Choose your favorite)
- Extra Fillings (Sliced veggies, tomatoes, avocado, or La Costeña salsa)
Preparation Steps
- Take your fresh flour tortilla and place it on a plate. If the tortilla feels stiff or was refrigerated, you should heat it for a few seconds in the microwave or in a pan to make it pliable so you can roll it after all your ingredients are inside.
- Spread on a layer of cream cheese all around the tortilla. I usually start with a big dollop in the middle of the tortilla and spread out toward the edges with a butter knife or an icing spatula.
- Now add your sliced La Costeña jalapeños in a row.
- You can roll the tortilla now or add in some of the optional fillings.
- When you start to roll the tortilla, start on the side that has the most toppings, that way, when you get to the other side which should mostly be cream cheese, it will help to keep the wrap together.
- I like to slice my wrap into bite-sized pieces like a pinwheel, but you can also just fold-up one end of the tortilla while you are rolling it and eat this like a cold burrito.
- Fun Fact or Story Behind Recipe
- I often crave the flavors of a jalapeño popper. This is the closest food that I can make from ingredients that I already have in my kitchen.
- I also like to eat this warm as a burrito with my optional filling being pinto beans. Delicious!
